Ranger – Brawler
One of the most notable changes in Teamfight Tactics version 12.12b is the significant buff to the Dragonborn trait. First, the number of Dragonborn champions available in the shop will increase to 3 instead of 2 as before. Additionally, Skarner has received an increase in the shield generated by his ability, making him much more resilient than before. This has made all forms of compositions utilizing Dragonborn significantly stronger.

Among these, Ranger – Brawler benefits the most as it is a rare case of using Skarner until the later stages of the game. With the buff to the Dragonborn effect, players can achieve Illaoi and 3-star Varus much more easily than before. Coupled with the fact that Assassin compositions (especially Diana) are no longer as popular due to heavy nerfs, the Ranger – Brawler composition has even more opportunities to shine.
Emerald
Although it did not receive a direct buff, the significant nerfs to several carry champions like Corki, Xayah, and Assassin champions have made Emerald much more useful. Simply put, as the burst damage from these champions has been reduced, the healing effect from the Emerald statue is much more impactful. This allows the Emerald composition to withstand fights very well and leverage the strong damage from Shi Oh Yu to secure victories.

In terms of building the composition, you will still rely on champions like Ezreal, Karma, Ashe, and Taric in the early game to maintain health and then gradually shift items to Anivia in the later stages. A small note is that in the late game, you should add Mystic champions like Bard and Lulu to counter Mage compositions or champions like Ao Shin and Aurelion Sol. You can even build Dragon Claw for Shi Oh Yu to allow this champion to deal damage comfortably.
Shadow Dragon – Brawler
With the substantial buffs in version 12.12b, the return of Shadow Dragon is quite understandable. Even the main carry of this composition, SyFen, has received numerous buffs to base damage, ability damage, and energy. When combined with other Brawler champions, SyFen becomes a “beast” with enormous damage that is also quite hard to take down.

To effectively build this composition, you should equip Bloodthirster, Giant Slayer, and Quicksilver on SyFen. These items will help this champion survive much longer in fights and unleash abilities multiple times. Infinity Edge is not necessary for SyFen as his abilities already deal a lot of damage. Boosting survivability and crowd control resistance will be much better for SyFen.
