Lux “Dark Magic” Unleashed in TFT Season 13
In TFT Season 13, utilizing the major thresholds of tank systems such as Brawlers, Guardians, and Protectors… has proven to be extremely powerful. Therefore, long-range carry champions that deal good damage while supporting frontline survival are highly valued in the current meta. Following the rise of Renata, Lux is the next champion to be explored for her “team-carrying” potential thanks to her shield creation and powerful damage output.

However, the unique aspect of the “Dark Magic” Lux playstyle is that LPL Super Server masters choose the Lone Hero core to maximize this unit’s potential. Combined with the anomaly that increases armor/magic resistance based on AP, Lux has good survivability, huge damage output, and becomes a true tank. Not to mention that Lux also receives a large amount of armor/magic resistance from the Guardian system, making her even tougher.
Building the “Dark Magic” Lux Team in TFT Season 13
At the start of the game, players should aim to activate the 2 Sorcerers threshold with Lux, Zyra, while ensuring the frontline has sufficient tankiness. Guardian units like Singed and Irelia are top choices as they ensure survivability while synergizing well with Lux’s strong shield creation. Additionally, for the first Tech Core selection, players should also choose the Lone Hero upgrade for the most effective implementation of this playstyle.

Similar to other 1-cost reroll strategies, players will not buy experience before upgrading Lux to 3 stars. After achieving this goal, players need to level up consistently and add more Guardian units to the lineup. Furthermore, Ezreal is also a very strong choice in the mid-game as it allows players to activate the 3 Academy threshold and gain an additional free item.

In the late game, players will aim for 6 Guardians with Illaoi to complete the lineup. The large amount of armor/magic resistance from the Guardian system will ensure Lux has enough survivability when she is the last surviving champion and can secure victory. Moreover, Illaoi, along with Irelia and Ezreal, also activates the 3 Rebel threshold and significantly enhances the team’s survivability in the later stages of the match.

Some Tips for Building the Team
Lux should be placed in the far right corner of the battlefield so that when she is the last surviving champion, only 2 melee opponents can approach her. This will significantly increase Lux’s chances of survival and victory in the late game. Regarding items, Lux needs to have 2 Archangel’s Staffs and Bloodthirster to achieve the best AP and survivability. Additionally, upgrading the Blood Mage Sorcerer is also very suitable for Lux, which players should prioritize.
