Shapeshifter – Marksman Breaks Power Limits in TFT Season 12
Patch 14.17 of TFT Season 12 is an extremely significant update as Riot strengthens a series of champions that were somewhat “neglected” in the previous version. Among them, the Shapeshifter system and many units like Jayce, Swain, and Shyvana have seen a major boost in durability to compete better against Vanguard or Guardian. Units like Nami, Elise, and Shyvana in the early game, along with Briar in the late game, provide ample space for the Marksman carry to deal damage. In the early game, Elise and Jayce are excellent starting units due to their good durability and decent damage. Notably, Nomsy and Twitch are great choices as these units can hold weapons that significantly enhance the power of carries in the later stages of the game.
At levels 6-7, strong Shapeshifters like Shyvana and Swain are excellent additions. Players can also use Zilean at this stage to activate the 3 Glacial bonus, making it easier to create a “snowball” effect in the game. Additionally, this unit increases single-target crowd control and secures long winning streaks for players.
After reaching level 8, players should transition to using the carry Varus and add Nasus to the composition as soon as possible. This allows players to maintain a lot of health and gold, providing enough resources to reach level 9 and add important 5-cost units like Smolder and Briar. In addition, Nami is also a good addition to enhance area crowd control for the composition.
Some Tips When Using the Shapeshifter – Marksman Composition
For the carry Varus, items that increase attack damage and armor penetration like Infinity Edge, Giant Slayer, and Bloodthirster are extremely suitable. Meanwhile, Smolder will need attack speed items like Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Runaan’s Hurricane to deal the best damage. Additionally, the Eternal Growth core and upgrades that provide additional items for the composition are very fitting for this team.
