The Rise of Sylas
Since the beginning of TFT Season 11, Sylas has maintained a relatively impressive strength due to his ability to deal damage, dash, and heal. However, the dominance of the Yone – Shadow and subsequently Kai’Sa – Fighter compositions has prevented Sylas from becoming a core unit. It wasn’t until these compositions were heavily nerfed that players began to pay more attention to this unit.

Moreover, the current meta of TFT (patch 14.11) also greatly supports Sylas. Currently, ranged carries find it very difficult to deal damage quickly after just 1-2 uses of their first abilities. As a result, melee carries like Sylas have a very high survival rate through opponents’ attacks to deal as much damage as possible.

Furthermore, Sylas has recently received buffs to his maximum health and healing from his abilities. Combined with the high Fighter threshold, Sylas, who was already hard to kill, has become even more resilient and difficult to take down. Once this unit reaches the opponent’s backline, Sylas can easily take down these low-health carries.
Building Sylas – Fighter Composition
Players usually aim for a threshold of 2 Fighters early on to ensure frontline durability. For the backline carry position, units like Kindred, Ahri, or Zyra will be top choices. These are all strong carries in the early game and can effectively equip items for Sylas.

Moving into the mid-game, players should add strong Fighter units like Aatrox and Tahm Kench. These will enhance survivability and provide a decent amount of damage to help players secure victories, even achieving win streaks during this phase. Additionally, if you acquire Sylas early, players shouldn’t equip items to him just yet. Although Sylas is very strong, he lacks sufficient damage output at 1-star level.

After reaching level 8, players should use their gold to seek out 2-star Sylas and upgrade their composition. Irelia can also be considered as a secondary carry when players receive many AD, attack speed items from monster rounds. Sett is also a strong option if players reach level 9, as this unit will greatly increase AD thanks to its passive when standing near high-health Fighters.

Items and Augments
In terms of items, Sylas will need Bloodthirster and Stormrazor to ensure survivability and damage output. For the third item, Archangel’s Staff will be a suitable choice as it interacts very well with Sylas’s natural resilience and the Fighter system. With the Augments, all upgrades that grant Fighter Emblems prove to be very strong with this composition. Additionally, Full Health and Lifesteal also help Sylas withstand fights and deal damage more effectively.
