Vex Terrifying Twin
Rising strong in Teamfight Tactics (TFT) in patch 14.1, Vex with the Terrifying Twin core quickly became extremely powerful and was utilized by many players. This playstyle is frustrating since Vex possesses a very strong crowd control ability with a 1.5-second area fear. Combined with magic damage items, this unit can sap the health of opponents extremely well and deny enemy champions the chance to react.

In the upcoming patch 14.2, Vex will be heavily nerfed and will no longer be as frustrating. Specifically, the fear duration from this character’s skill will be reduced to only 0.75 seconds (halved from before). Furthermore, the Terrifying Twin core will no longer provide critical strike chance and significantly reduce Vex’s ability to “one shot” opponents. With these changes, the Vex Terrifying Twin composition will likely disappear from the meta.
Disco
In patch 14.1, Disco was perhaps one of the strongest “Fast 9” compositions with an incredibly annoying all-round offense and defense capability. This composition features many resilient champions and a lot of crowd control to create space for the carries. Meanwhile, Twisted Fate in the backline proves to be a magical carry that interacts very well with the round duration. As a result, when players find Superstar Twisted Fate, reaching the top 4 becomes extremely easy.

However, this will no longer continue in the upcoming patch 14.2. This is due to the significant nerf to Twisted Fate’s skill damage and energy. Furthermore, the healing and attack speed effects of the Disco trait have also been nerfed, causing the damage output of the “Card God” to decrease significantly. Therefore, Disco will likely no longer be a top meta composition in the upcoming patch.
Holy Riven
Reroll compositions featuring Riven or Yone have shown to be extremely powerful in patch 14.1 due to their high damage and strong healing capabilities. Additionally, these compositions are very strong in the mid-game and can maintain health well to gain an advantage in the later stages. Moreover, the Holy Riven trait itself has many champions that can serve as carries, so this composition becomes stronger as the game progresses due to the additional items provided.

Nevertheless, this playstyle will also be hit by Riot Games in the next patch. For Riven, the additional damage when using skills will be reduced to 90% of her attack damage. Meanwhile, Superstar Yone will see both health and bonus attack damage decreased. This will greatly limit the damage output of Riven and Yone, making them easier to take down. This could even lead to the Holy Riven composition being eliminated from the top meta compositions.
Conclusion
With a series of significant nerfs from Riot, compositions including Vex Terrifying Twin, Disco, and Holy Riven will become much weaker in the new patch. Players should probably avoid using these compositions in the future to prevent experiencing a “plummeting” rank when patch 14.2 officially releases.
