Even if you are a long-time player of League of Legends, you have to admit that the game’s client is truly terrible. Not only does it lack tools and information about players, but what frustrates players the most about the League of Legends client is that it encounters too many minor errors, making the gaming experience extremely poor. Many have even claimed that when compared to another MOBA game, DOTA 2, the League of Legends client is just there to “carry the shoes” for Valve’s game.

Recently, the “broken” state of the League of Legends client was again criticized by players when it led to tens of thousands of players being permanently banned. If these players had been banned for violating rules, that would be one thing, but now many players with no toxic behavior, and who only played Teamfight Tactics, are also facing bans, which is quite perplexing. Even a well-known Esports journalist, Jacob Wolf, spoke out about this issue when his account, which only played “auto chess,” was also permanently banned.

Right after that, League of Legends players quickly identified the cause of this situation as a client error. The consequence is that players who have not been penalized received notifications of permanent account bans, although in reality, it was just a false notification generated by a system error. In fact, players are not permanently banned; you just need to continuously log back into League of Legends, and the issue will be resolved, typically after 5-6 attempts.
Fortunately, it only turned out to be a minor issue, and many players’ accounts were not permanently banned as reported. However, this still presents an extremely poor experience for players, as there is nothing more frustrating than being unjustly locked out of your account, even if it is just an error notification. We hope that Riot Games will soon provide a reasonable explanation and fix this issue as quickly as possible.
