On the morning of July 13 (Vietnam time), the League of Legends gaming community in general and the Teamfight Tactics mode in particular was buzzing when a new game was launched, but it is a Chinese version and seems to only be playable on the LPL region server. Notably, this game mode is quite similar to TFT – the game mode of League of Legends. This game is published by Tencent.
According to information from Daniel Ahmad – an expert in the gaming industry in the Asia region, this new game is called “Golden Shovel Battle.” The game has been approved for release by Chinese authorities and has started accepting registrations.

At the same time, Daniel Ahmad also provided explanations regarding whether this new game is related to the global version of TFT or not.

– I am quite sure that this is a game exclusive to China.
– The game can be seen as a version based on TFT, with many changes compared to the original global version.

– Additionally, I also think that the title of the game could be translated as “Golden Shovel Battle,” which may evoke associations with the Golden Shovel in League of Legends/TFT.
Furthermore, when a netizen complained about Tencent continuing to find ways to “suck blood” from gamers, Daniel Ahmad had to remind them that “Tencent actually owns Riot Games.”

– Here we go again with Tencent. I don’t mean to offend, but why are there still people willing to pay Tencent to make games? They could make a separate mobile version even if they lack experience or something like that.
– But in this case, Tencent owns Riot Games.
The gaming community has mixed opinions on this issue. Some believe that the new game resembles Season 1 quite a bit, but others have keenly noticed that there are some skins that have never appeared before, such as Graves in a skin reminiscent of the Heroic Chaos skin line, or Gnar in a skin that seems related to sand…

However, alongside the gamers who are curious and excited about this new game, some others expressed quite negative opinions. Most of these opinions are still concerned about the similarities between the new game and the familiar TFT game mode.

Currently, if this new game is an exclusive version for China, it is very likely that gamers can only play it by logging into the LPL region. This could mean that the game will not really receive much attention as regions like Europe, North America, or LCK, VCS also have a large player base for TFT.
