In the latest PBE server update, the League of Legends community has discovered some rather mysterious signs on the map. Specifically, at the Shop locations of both teams, a mystical icon in orange and yellow ink has appeared. This is believed to be a teaser for the new champion named Hwei, as this character was previously described with similar primary colors.

The special point here is that the community has also discovered that Hwei will have a Winter Wonderland skin released next month. According to information revealed by YouTuber Big Bad Bear, there will be up to 7 champions (including Hwei) in this skin group. Therefore, it is highly likely that Hwei will be released in December.

Moreover, in recent years, champions released in the final month or the first month of the year have always been tied to a major event. Viego is such a character, as he played the main antagonist in the Sentinels of Light event. Therefore, the League of Legends community predicts that Hwei’s release in December will have a grand unveiling. It is very likely that Riot will invest heavily in this year’s Christmas event.

In the latest “Champion Development Roadmap” article, Riot Games confirmed that Hwei is the new Mage champion in League of Legends. In fact, Hwei is described as an artist who, despite having a somewhat gloomy appearance, creates stunning, colorful works. As for the skills, several sources have revealed that Hwei may be able to “paint” terrain on the map.

If the above revelations are correct, League of Legends players will likely get to know Hwei as soon as patch 13.24 arrives on the PBE server. It should be noted that since Vex’s release, Riot has not introduced a new Mage champion in over two years. Hopefully, Hwei will possess a truly interesting skill set to bring a “fresh breeze” to this class of characters.
