It’s no secret that Teamfight Tactics is currently flooded with hyper-roll compositions and players trying to get rich off 1-cost champions. With the roster only providing enough champions for 1-2 successful hyper-roll players, gamers are forced to find ways to upgrade old team compositions or invent new ones to survive in the current meta.

Previously, we had the super-fast Kha’Zix upgrade for the Brawler – Gunner composition, and now a player has discovered a new way to upgrade the Sorcerer team using Gangplank as the main carry. Of course, betting on a 5-cost champion is quite risky, but in an era where rolling early can lead to an even earlier demise, we have to “risk it for the biscuit.”

To build this composition, we generally consider two main approaches: one is to start with Piracy units to earn gold, and the other is to gradually build from Sorcerer units to achieve high damage output immediately. For the first method, you can stack items early on Darius to gain immediate power, as he will also be the unit responsible for holding items for Gangplank later. The second method is theoretically stronger but requires many energy items early to make the Sorcerers strong enough.

In the mid-game phase, around level 6, the goal is to build the strongest team with what you have, as this team will be strong in the late game with the buff from 6 Sorcerers and 5-cost Gangplank. The best-case scenario is to have a solid front line of Pirates and Vanguard with 3 units being Jayce, Darius, and Poppy. You don’t necessarily have to upgrade them to 3 stars; just 1-2 stars are enough to tide through this phase.

In the late game, it’s time for the Gangplank – Sorcerer team to shine. You should sell unnecessary units or those holding items meant for your carry like Darius. However, note that just because you have Gangplank, it doesn’t mean you should sell off your strong units, as a 1-star unit won’t deal as much damage as before. To secure the win, you should wait until Gangplank reaches 2 stars or at least has 1 upgrade to maximize damage output.

With a wealth of damage sources from the Sorcerers and Gangplank, this composition is incredibly powerful when fully assembled for the late game. With massive damage amplification from the buff of 6 Sorcerers and AP items, Gangplank can wipe out the enemy team with just one ability cast. If you’re tired of the endless “rolling meta,” the Gangplank – Sorcerer team is the perfect choice to refresh your gameplay.
