Ivern
Despite not receiving any buffs, Ivern has become one of the top three champions with the highest appearance rate in Teamfight Tactics in patch 11.12 (after Rell and Ryze). With the meta shifting towards strong late-game compositions, expensive and versatile units like Ivern have become incredibly hot. Moreover, with the Mystic trait, Ivern is an essential piece to support compositions revolving around Karma and Teemo.

Another strength of Ivern is that this unit has relatively strong stats right from level 1 star, with 1000 health and 50 armor/magic resistance. Therefore, this piece can become a decent frontline unit before reaching level 8. Not to mention, the unit Daisy that gets summoned also has a considerable amount of health. Thus, Ivern is a crucial unit that helps compositions like Divine, Celestial, and Mystic sustain health and increase damage very effectively.
Lux
With the powerful comeback of the Celestial composition, Lux has naturally become a highly favored champion in the current meta. Lux’s dominance lies in her ability to provide a large shield to allies while also dealing significant magic damage. If you invest in Lux with a few energy-boosting items, this unit can become a strong carry in the mid-game. Having this unit early on will help players maintain health very well when playing a Celestial team.

We need to remember that the current meta has many compositions that deal powerful magic damage through frontline tank units. Compositions revolving around Vel’Koz, Karma, and Teemo are prime examples of this meta, so you need to have the Mystic trait to ensure your carry can survive. The advice is to invest in Lux when trying to activate the Mystic trait, as this unit provides additional strong defensive effects due to her shield buffing ability.
Thresh
Low cost and high effectiveness from the beginning to the end of the game are reasons why Thresh has become an incredibly hot champion in the current meta. This champion allows players to have a very tanky composition with damage-blocking effects thanks to the Knight trait. From there, you’ll have favorable conditions to sustain health and build gold for strong end-game compositions like Kayle – Knight or Draven – Reaver. Additionally, Thresh’s damage capability with his Death Sentence ability is relatively strong early in the game.

In the late game, Thresh will play the role of controlling the opponent’s carry and reducing the damage that allied units receive. Basically, Thresh will cast Death Sentence targeting the enemy unit farthest from him, so players should position this unit opposite their team’s carry. With units capable of dealing damage over time like Vel’Koz, Karma, and Draven being popular, Thresh’s role in the late game is extremely important.
