Deathblade
The last adjustment that Deathblade received was on June 23 of this year, and it was merely a bug fix. Essentially, since the beginning of season 5, Deathblade has not received any significant buffs. However, this item remains extremely hot as players use it for many strong carries in the current meta such as Aphelios, Akshan, or sometimes even Kayle. The reason is that this item synergizes perfectly with the damage-dealing methods of these units.

Take the duo of Aphelios and Akshan as an example. These two units have excellent multi-target damage capabilities with their abilities. With just one cast, Aphelios and Akshan can stack a lot of critical damage from Deathblade. This further helps the two units eliminate remaining enemy pieces faster, and like an unstoppable domino chain, they will quickly destroy the enemy team with Deathblade.
Runaan’s Hurricane
Unfortunately, the last adjustment to Runaan’s Hurricane was a nerf in patch 11.9 of Teamfight Tactics. Since then, this item has not been adjusted again but still maintains a pick rate of 28.5% and an extremely high average placement of 4.11 (stats from Metatft.com). So what has made Runaan’s Hurricane so popular? The most accurate answer is the powerful rise of Yasuo in patch 11.18.

With a champion capable of dealing significant and continuous true damage like Yasuo, the only weakness is that he can only deal damage to a single target. At that point, Runaan’s Hurricane appears as an excellent solution to enhance his damage output. Additionally, this item helps players counter formations that protect a single carry since the unit with Runaan’s Hurricane can still deal damage to the backline without having to directly engage the target.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade
Currently, the traits – systems that provide good tankiness for the entire team, such as Armored – Knight, remain popular choices. This causes items that provide prolonged combat abilities like Guinsoo’s Rageblade to maximize their effectiveness. The reason is that as opponents become “tankier,” your champions will have more time to stack Guinsoo’s Rageblade and significantly increase their damage output at the end of the round.

For this reason, Guinsoo’s Rageblade has gradually become a “people’s item” for carries at the moment because it is the strongest attack speed item. From familiar champions like Kayle, Vayne, or even other units like Aphelios, Draven, Lucian… they all utilize Guinsoo’s Rageblade effectively. If you intend to use physical carries right now, Guinsoo’s Rageblade is the item you should build whenever you have the opportunity.
