Outsiders
In fact, since the beginning of Teamfight Tactics Season 6 until now, Outsiders have never been a suitable composition for climbing ranks. With its “randomness,” players either experience emotional “comebacks” with Outsiders or spend most of their time stuck in a losing streak, unable to “hit the jackpot.” However, this composition still brings a substantial amount of volatility, especially at higher ranks, where players can control their power levels very well. As a result, Outsiders are heavily nerfed in the upcoming Patch 12.2.

With the removal of the appearance rate of Neeko’s Help during losing streaks 3 and 4, the amount of gold received from losing streaks is also reduced, making the resources provided by Outsiders much less. Remember that Neeko’s Help is an important tool for upgrading 5-cost champions to 2 stars early on. This change from Riot will greatly reduce the rate of “comebacks” in Patch 12.2. If you still want to play a “gold cheat” composition, it’s advisable to choose Yordles instead of Outsiders in the future.
Jhin – Protectors
It seems that the overwhelming stability of the Jhin – Protectors composition has dissatisfied Riot Games, leading them to decide to nerf the strongest units of this team comp. Specifically, both Sion and Braum, the main tanks, have their ability energy cost increased and crowd control reduced. Additionally, the top shield provider for Jhin, Orianna, also has her shielding ability reduced at level 2 stars. Even the win condition of this composition, Jhin 3 stars, has its damage nerfed.

This results in a significant reduction in the defensive capabilities of the Jhin – Protectors team. Consequently, the time for Jhin to deal damage will be relatively low; without a full set of attack items, this unit will struggle to take down enemy teams. Not to mention that the amount of shields Orianna provides has been reduced, making the backline of this composition much more vulnerable. These factors will greatly decrease the overall power of the Jhin – Protectors team, making it no longer a safe ranking strategy.
Tahm Kench – Idol
After Kai’Sa was nerfed in Patch 12.1, Tahm Kench became the next champion trusted to be the main carry for the “super idol” playstyle. With the ability to provide additional items and gold by eliminating targets with his skills, Tahm Kench will quickly empower your entire composition and make it extremely difficult to deal with. Of course, this playstyle is also very risky, but once successfully built, Tahm Kench – Idol is a composition that can easily secure a top 1 finish.

However, in the upcoming Patch 12.2, this composition has been heavily nerfed, particularly the main carry, Tahm Kench, as the damage dealt by this unit’s skills has been reduced. Furthermore, the bonus stats gained from feeding Tahm Kench have been nerfed by 10%, significantly diminishing this piece’s ability to “carry the team.” Not to mention, the appearance rate of 5-cost champions at level 8 has also been nerfed, making the feasibility of building the Tahm Kench – Idol team much lower than before.
