Scholar
With the disappearance of Janna, the Scholar trait in Teamfight Tactics Season 6.5 is not favored by players if key units like Renata or Silco are too strong. Moreover, it is observed that in most team compositions, only 1-2 units need to cast spells continuously. Therefore, gamers will prioritize solving issues with items rather than trying to reach the 4-6 Scholar threshold as before. Perhaps Riot wants Scholars to have a truly strong composition, so they have buffed this trait significantly in patch 12.7.

Specifically, at the 4/6 Scholar threshold, energy regeneration will increase from 10/20 points to 15/25 points. This change will allow compositions utilizing high Scholar thresholds to cast their abilities continuously without relying on Tear of the Goddess anymore. It’s unclear how this change will impact the meta, but it can be confirmed that compositions using the 4/6 Scholar threshold with key units like Syndra and Zyra will be significantly stronger in the upcoming patch.
Idols
In fact, the effects of the Idol trait itself will not be affected at all in the upcoming patch 12.7. However, all key Idol units like Senna, Seraphine, and Galio will receive significant buffs, so this trait remains highly favored by Riot Games. Specifically, Senna’s skill damage will increase, and the energy required for Seraphine to cast her abilities will be reduced. Meanwhile, the damage from Galio’s Heroic Entrance, which interacts based on his health, will also be buffed.

This change will help compositions using 3 Idols or more overcome the issue of being overly dependent on any single carry while the units of this trait lack damage. Furthermore, the buffs to Seraphine and Senna could help bring the Innovator composition back into the meta. It wouldn’t be surprising if compositions revolving around Seraphine and Senna as carries make a comeback and dominate in patch 12.7 in the coming weeks.
Yordles
Looking at the changes since Season 6.5 launched, we can see that Riot is making efforts to strengthen Yordles and move away from them being used solely to improve gold income. However, the downside of Yordles is that the 6-unit threshold does not provide immediate power to the champions. A 25% reduction in spell energy cost is too little, while you will have to wait a long time to have Veigar strong enough to carry the team.

Therefore, in patch 12.7, Riot has implemented what seems like a small buff but is actually quite significant, as the energy reduction for the 6-unit threshold has increased to 30%. This will allow important units like Corki, Lulu, and especially Veigar in the late game to cast their abilities much more frequently and deal significantly more damage than before. We hope this buff will help the Yordles team establish a stronger presence in the meta.
