Katarina
Among the champions of the Assassin trait in Season 5, it wasn’t LeBlanc but rather Katarina who was the most favored piece. With her flexible skill set, excellent burst damage, and the ability to counter champions with healing capabilities, Katarina also possesses the Reaper trait which maximizes her damage output.
However, in Season 5.5, players will have to say goodbye to Katarina’s acrobatics across the map. This 3-cost champion will officially take her leave from TFT, leaving behind a lot of nostalgia, especially for players who have become accustomed to the Assassin – Reaper or Katarina – Shadow Mage compositions that dominated mid to late Season 5.

Mordekaiser
One of the champions that has always dominated and has been least “touched” in Season 5 is Mordekaiser from the Dragon – Legion trait. This champion is perhaps one of those who can dominate with any type of item, whether offensive or defensive. Not to mention, his “1 hit 1 kill” ability makes Mordekaiser one of the top choices for spectacular “comebacks”.
Along with Pantheon and Trundle, Mordekaiser will also disappear with the Dragon trait in the upcoming Season 5.5. Although he is a powerful champion, Mordekaiser is not an easy piece to use as it requires players to arrange their formations properly for him to maximize his power. Nonetheless, the departure of the Armored Demon leaves many regrets, as players wonder when they will have the chance to own such a literal “tank” that sweeps the board again.

Ryze
As one of the champions who debuted early in TFT, Ryze quickly demonstrated his power, especially when equipped with the core item, Blue Buff. At one point, Ryze’s snare was even considered more effective than LeBlanc’s, as it didn’t have a cooldown and dealt area damage on the next cast.
After completing his duties and wrapping up one of the most successful debuts in TFT history, Ryze will disappear to make way for a new 4-cost Mystic champion, Fiddlesticks. However, Ryze’s “snare to death” ability will be one of the most beloved skills among TFT players, and everyone hopes Riot will consider bringing the Ancient Mage back in the next season.

Kindred
Returning in Season 5, Kindred became the go-to name for every top-climbing composition that TFT players trusted since their debut. With three incredibly strong traits – Ranger – Mystic – Eternal, and a skill set that combines offense and defense, Kindred is always a must-have, especially in the late game. In fact, during many phases, Kindred even had a higher pick rate than some 5-cost champions like Heimerdinger, Viego, or Kayle.
As dominant as they are, Kindred will also have to say goodbye to TFT after Season 5 ends. Replacing Kindred’s position in Mystic will be Gwen, but one thing is for sure, no one will forget Kindred’s ability to break through enemy formations and protect all allies. Among the upcoming absences, the Wolf and Lamb will definitely be the most regrettable name for the TFT gaming community.
