Perhaps in Teamfight Tactics Season 5, alongside the Dark Equipment that forces players to strategize and sometimes can be more harmful than beneficial, one factor that frustrates players in this game mode is the occasional instance of being at 1 health and thinking of potential comeback strategies, only to suddenly… experience a screen fade when transitioning to the next round or the shared selection phase, leaving players bewildered as to what just happened.
Most players believe this is a bug in TFT and have been calling for Riot to fix it as quickly as possible since the launch of Season 5. However, all they have received in response is silence from Riot, and players continue to “live with the problem” even when everyone thinks they could pull off spectacular comebacks, only to end up getting eliminated. In fact, some players have even complained that despite having 1 health, when they experience the “screen fade,” they find themselves ranked lower than players who were eliminated earlier.
However, recently, Riot Mortdog publicly addressed this bug while responding to a player’s comment on Twitter.

Riot’s explanation is actually quite unreasonable, as clearly, aside from some players losing to the point of having only 1 health, there are also players who won that round and still had 1 health (as shown in the clip above), but when it came to the shared selection phase, they lost all their health and ended up ranked lower than those who had already been eliminated.
Currently, this bug still sporadically exists, and of course, not every player encounters it, but if Riot doesn’t address it satisfactorily, it could easily create frustration within the community of players in one of the most exciting game modes in League of Legends.
