The Return of Kayle
Before patch 13.13 released, the Kayle – Guardian composition proved to be extremely strong in high ranks. This playstyle showed that Kayle is a powerful carry once players reach level 9. However, with the nerfs to the Guardian system and Iron Solari Chain, this composition has fallen out of favor. Nevertheless, top players have discovered a new playstyle called Kayle – Butcher to harness the power of this unit.
Building the Kayle – Butcher Composition
In the early game, players will not buy experience to maximize the appearance rate of 1-cost champions including Kayle, Maokai, and Poppy. The goal for players at this stage is to upgrade the three mentioned champions to 3 stars as quickly as possible. After that, the composition needs to be pushed to level 5 and add Tristana and Kled to the field to help Poppy reach 4 stars.
By the mid-game, any Demacia unit and Butcher will be a good option for this composition. The 3 Demacia threshold will provide Poppy with an additional Light item that enhances her tankiness significantly. Meanwhile, the 3 Butcher threshold will greatly increase Kayle’s damage.
The goal in the late game for players will be to reach level 9 and help Kayle achieve her strongest state. Additionally, Butcher champions like Aatrox and Gwen will be strong additions to the composition. Players can also replace Tristana with Heimerdinger at this stage to boost damage.
For the Legendary choice, Ezreal fits very well with the Kayle – Butcher composition, providing players with additional items for Gwen, Poppy, etc. Additionally, upgrades that increase damage for the Butcher system should also be chosen. As for items, Kayle will need 2 Guinsoo’s Rageblade to deal effective damage. Moreover, Gwen with Infinity Force, Gemstone Gauntlet, and Justice Hand is also a strong carry.
