Kayle
Following continuous nerfs from Riot Games recently, Kayle is no longer as dominant as many imagined. The damage output after using Kayle’s ability has significantly weakened, leaving players in a situation where they struggle with damage in the late game. Remember, Kayle is still a 4-cost champion, and you have to “bleed health” a lot early on to support this unit. Therefore, when Kayle can no longer carry games alone like before, she is not favored in high ranks.

Additionally, Kayle is a champion that is very picky about items; if you don’t have many Wooden Bows, this angelic champion will be extremely weak. This means Kayle is not a champion you can use in every match with various item builds. The advice from experts is that you should only use Kayle if you have plenty of Wooden Bows or have a strong enough early game team. Otherwise, you risk being eliminated early, even before you can upgrade Kayle to 2 stars.
Shyvana
Shyvana’s weakness is quite similar to Kayle’s in that she is too dependent on items to deal effective damage. Without Runean’s Hurricane and Infinity Edge, Shyvana’s damage output will be greatly limited. Another frustrating aspect of playing a Brawler team is that it is too strong in the early game, making it hard to secure a Wooden Bow during the shared pick phase. Therefore, to successfully build Shyvana, you must rely entirely on your own “luck.”

Of course, the Brawler composition remains extremely strong, and Teamfight Tactics players can comfortably climb ranks with it. However, you shouldn’t focus too much on Shyvana and only build items for this unit. Other champions like Nunu & Willump, Cho’Gath, or even Vi can also carry the team very well. They can serve as your “saviors” in case you don’t get enough Wooden Bows to equip Shyvana.
Katarina
Although she possesses an incredibly high damage output, Katarina specifically and the Warrior team in general are currently rated quite low by experts. Essentially, the Warrior composition needs to snowball the game, leveraging its superiority in health and skill damage to win. However, with the nerf to the bonus stats in patch 11.4, Warriors no longer maintain that overpowering strength.

For Katarina, this champion also seems quite out of place in the Assassin composition as she does not fit the meta of patch 11.7. The current Assassin team will use a large amount of attack speed from the Spirit trait to ensure damage output. However, Katarina does not benefit much from attack speed stats, making her nearly “useless” in the current Assassin composition. Thus, this piece is often dismissed by experts from the final lineup.
