Yuumi
It’s no exaggeration to say that among the 5-star champions in Teamfight Tactics Season 6, Yuumi is the most versatile champion. Essentially, this unit can support any team composition exceptionally well by providing significant shielding to a unit along with a wide-range crowd control ability. Moreover, the faster energy regeneration effect from the Scholar trait is another factor that makes Yuumi popular as it allows your entire team to cast abilities much earlier.

Of course, with such strength and versatility, Yuumi is now in Riot’s sights for nerfs. However, despite having been nerfed several times, Yuumi remains popular because the benefits this unit provides are too powerful, meaning that stat reductions do not weaken this unit at all. Perhaps if the Scholar trait were not being removed in Season 6.5, Riot would certainly find a way to eliminate a unit as strong and versatile as Yuumi.
Talon
If you are someone who frequently uses Assassin compositions, you understand the importance of Talon. This unit has the ability to deal tremendous damage even at level 1 star and can take down backline carries without needing any items. In fact, Talon’s strength is so great that this unit does not even require players to activate the major Assassin trait to still “carry the team” with the additional damage from the Empire trait.

However, Talon’s dominance has led to a situation where Assassin or Empire compositions become overly reliant on this unit to survive in the mid-game. This is especially true for Empire teams, as not having Talon early means you are almost guaranteed to lose. Moreover, the Empire trait’s support for a gameplay style centered around a single carry seems to contradict Riot’s balancing principles, so this trait along with Talon will be removed in the upcoming mid-season update.
Yone
When mentioning the Challenger trait in Season 6, Yone is definitely the first name that many players think of, as this unit has the ability to deal tremendous damage. What’s special about Yone is that with the Spirit Cleave ability, this unit does not need healing items to remain in fights for an extended period. Moreover, this ability also allows Yone to attack the opponent’s backline and easily activate the attack speed boost effect of the Challenger trait.

However, with the latest announcement from Riot, the Scholar trait (which includes Yone) will be removed when Season 6.5 arrives. Remember that another notable carry from the Challenger trait, Samira, is also being removed along with the Empire trait. Therefore, the question arises as to which champions can replace the aforementioned units to keep the Challenger team in the meta. Perhaps it will be Draven, Master Yi (Elegant trait), or Irelia, but they will need to have truly strong abilities to replace Yone.
