In the changes of patch 10.10, the most notable decline is that of the Candyland composition. While the nerf to Poppy didn’t significantly weaken the champion, the two additional nerfs targeting Twisted Fate and the Chalice of Favor have caused this composition to plummet on the leaderboard of the strongest setups. According to TFTactic, Candyland or Hyper-roll Sorcerers have dropped from S rank (overpowered) in patch 10.9 to B rank (average) in patch 10.10.

The severe lack of damage due to Twisted Fate being nerfed is the main reason this composition has weakened so drastically. The nerf to the Chalice of Favor, which reduces the energy regeneration for allies (often present in high magic damage compositions), further decreases the frequency of spell casts by the sorcerers. When the backline lacks damage, no matter how tanky the frontline is, they will still fall. It seems like it’s time for TFT players to say goodbye to Candyland.

In contrast to Candyland, another hyper-roll composition, Shredder with Xayah as the main carry, seems unaffected by the nerf. The 5 damage reduction is not too significant since she can compensate with attack speed. The Shredder composition remains extremely strong at the moment, so you can definitely use it to climb the ranks. The only piece of advice is to watch your opponents closely; if two or more players are also trying to roll for Xayah, it’s best to find a way to pivot to avoid an untimely death.

Compositions revolving around Brawlers such as Brawler – Gunslinger or Brawler – Void still maintain stability since they were not affected in the last patch. Brawler – Void is slightly impacted due to the nerf to the Sona pump playstyle with the Chalice of Favor; however, you can easily switch to a traditional approach with 2 Spies if the game doesn’t grant you enough energy items, just enough for Vel’Koz.

The buff to the drop rate of items for Pirates to 25% is truly enabling a new greedy yet effective playstyle: Pirate – Cosmic. This composition is rated A (strong) by TFTactic and can be played if you are confident enough. The characteristic of this setup is having many carries; by the end of the game with 4 Pirates, you will gain a lot of items and ensure a strong number of carries for your team, thus overwhelming opponents with equipment advantages.

Not only is it strong in its own composition, but Pirates are also very powerful when paired with Sorcerers due to Gangplank’s massive damage in the late game. Other Pirate units are extremely strong in the mid-game, and the additional gold they provide helps Sorcerers get through this difficult phase. Because of such a great combination, the Pirate – Sorcerer team also holds a solid position in the current meta.

Moreover, Rebel compositions are also beginning to make a comeback. Pilot – Spy shows no signs of slowing down after being nerfed, so there are many strong compositions to utilize in patch 10.10.
