T1 Superstars Take New Action
At this current stage, with all professional League of Legends tournaments concluded, the community’s attention is now focused on the end-of-season transfer market. T1 fans are no exception, especially since all team members, except Faker, will have their contracts expire this year. Furthermore, although there have been many reports suggesting that T1 players might continue to re-sign, this team’s fans can only feel reassured upon receiving an official announcement from the organization. Nevertheless, T1 players have taken some new actions that may help ease fans’ concerns.

Specifically, Oner and Zeus have extended their contracts with their agency for another year, until 2025. Of course, in reality, they have only confirmed to maintain their representation, not the team. But this can be seen as a positive signal. The agencies play a crucial role in influencing the players’ decisions, and the fact that they have only extended their contracts for one more year with the agency may also imply that the T1 duo will continue to stay with the team for another year.

But T1 Fans Shouldn’t Celebrate Too Soon
However, the contract negotiations will depend on the terms and benefits that T1 provides to the players. During the ongoing 2024 World Championship, COO Josh Ahn has admitted he wants to maintain the current roster. But the positions of four players (except Faker) have risen to a new level, and everything must be handled in the most professional manner to ensure the interests of both the team and the players.

As for Oner, Zeus, or any current T1 member (except Faker), they also need to consider their own future options. Regardless of the outcome, they have all contributed their best efforts. Therefore, if any decisions are made, fans will likely accept them graciously.
On the other hand, if T1 can maintain their current roster, they will be the first and only team in League of Legends history to retain a lineup after successfully defending the World Championship title. This would be a historical milestone that perhaps no other team can replicate.
