In the match on January 27th (Vietnam time) as part of the third week of LCK Spring 2022, Faker and his teammates faced their first major challenge since the tournament officially began: Nongshim RedForce. This team not only had good form, having just defeated the reigning LCK 2021 champions – DWG KIA, but also boasted a player who understands T1 well, namely top laner Canna.
Despite facing numerous difficulties, even allowing NS to equalize in the second game, Faker and his teammates ultimately secured the victory. Notably, both teams delivered outstanding performances on this match day, with the better team winning convincingly. Peter’s pick of Blitzcrank in game 3 surprised both the audience and the T1 players themselves. Although NS could not clinch the final victory, they demonstrated why they could reach the top 4 of the LCK Spring 2022 standings and even made DK “suffer.”

But speaking of the winning team, countless praises were also directed at T1 players, especially Oner, Zeus, and Keria. Oner’s Baron steal in game 1 and Zeus’s excellent performance with the champion Jayce were crucial for T1’s two victories against the tough opponent NS.

On a day when young players shone, one name still managed to make a mark for himself: Faker. The titan of the League of Legends had a perfect game 1 without dying even once. In game 3, Faker brought out his “signature” champion Azir and made several plays that outplayed the NS players. Fans even remarked that it was precisely because of Faker that Azir will never get buffed.

Additionally, some opinions suggest that while T1’s victory was convincing, the match left too many gaps, especially in game 2. This is why T1 could not close the game more swiftly. They even faced quite a bit of difficulty in the early phase of game 3. If it weren’t for the outstanding performances of the T1 players, the match might have ended with a completely different result.

Nevertheless, T1 has secured a victory against one of the direct competitors for the championship. With this achievement, Faker and his teammates will have a mental boost before heading into the crucial match against DK, while also putting pressure on Gen.G Esports – the team currently above T1 with 5 consecutive wins and preparing to face KT Rolster next.
