Even though the ADC role is no longer viewed as a team-carrying position, professional players in this role still know how to shine in various ways, delivering spectacular performances for their fanbase.
Ruler – the captain of Gen.G Esports, is one of the few ADC players who has maintained a stable performance and significant impact on the overall gameplay of the team.

In a recent match between Gen.G Esports and SANDBOX Gaming during the group stage of the LCK Summer 2020, the former 2017 World Champion proved why he is still one of the greatest ADCs in the world.
In a situation where Clid was caught out by four members of SB, Ruler was moving towards the Mid Lane and immediately “engaged”. After escaping the ambush, Clid temporarily retreated, leaving Ruler facing off against 4 members of SB (with Azir later deciding to pull back).
In this situation, Ruler used the Frost Shot to hit Azir, helping Clid’s Lee Sin escape the “surrounding ambush”. After that, this ADC confidently approached, using the Volley to slow enemies in a wide area, showcasing his classic 1 vs 3 moment.
With the combination of the Runaan’s Hurricane and his Q – Ranger’s Focus, Ashe in Ruler’s hands had the ability to multi-target attack and continuously slow enemies. At this point, Azir was low on health and retreated from the fight, while Trundle, Thresh, and Aphelios all attempted to approach Ashe to overwhelm Ruler with numbers.

However, focusing all skills on Lee Sin temporarily left Trundle and Thresh from SB without options to approach and catch Ashe. Nevertheless, the clip capturing Ruler’s mechanics left fans in awe, as his hit-and-run moves and kiting were executed flawlessly.
Even the movement of the mouse cursor showed Ruler’s normal attack-move-normal attack… performed at an incredible speed, so much so that viewers had to slow the video down to 0.3 times speed just to observe the cursor’s motion.
The result of this situation was that SANDBOX’s formation crumbled before the two members of Gen.G, before Karma could arrive to assist and conclude the skirmish. Although there were some objective reasons such as Gen.G’s substantial lead, that doesn’t diminish the astonishing performance of Ruler for the audience.
