On the evening of May 22 (Vietnam time), Riot unexpectedly released the second teaser for the Hall of Fame event, with the first player to be honored being Faker. In the previous teaser, the community watched the champions that made the “Demon King” famous, while this time, it features events and characters that have witnessed the ups and downs of Faker’s professional League of Legends journey. Additionally, the community learned that Faker will have up to two Hall of Fame skins of his own, including the previously revealed champion Ahri and LeBlanc – the champion whose title inspired Lee Sang-hyuk: Faker.
Of course, with a teaser considered even more engaging than the first, fans did not miss the opportunity to “spot” the openly hidden or implied “easter eggs” within. First, there is an image of Faker sitting on a throne obscured in darkness with Azir and sand soldiers behind him. Azir can be said to be the symbol champion for Faker in the 2023 journey as he rose from continuous defeats to prove the class of the “Immortal Demon King,” similar to how Azir rose from the Tomb of the Emperor to reclaim what belonged to him.

Next, we see the jerseys of SKT T1/T1 over the years, showcasing Faker’s long and persistent career in professional League of Legends. And of course, we cannot forget the historical clash where Faker used Orianna combined with Wolf’s Rakan to create a legendary “comeback” worth about 10k gold. This was also the first reverse sweep in professional League of Legends history when the two teams had a gold difference of 10k or more.

And as is often the case when mentioning Faker, people will also “mention” Ryu. In Faker’s career, he has defeated many opponents. However, few can evoke as special emotions as Ryu. The solo kill of Zed by Ryu is still considered one of the most iconic solo kills in League of Legends history, officially bringing Faker into the spotlight. Moreover, this play almost marked the end of Ryu’s career, and when people mention Ryu, they often don’t remember much about the “Best Zed of all time” but rather his “legendary” expression when being taken down by Faker.

The clip also features a quote from renowned host Sjokz. She is one of the elements who has witnessed Faker’s entire career journey, and it was she who once asked Faker a question after a defeat: “Am I still good enough?” And perhaps, both Faker and Sjokz have found the answer after his recent victory at the 2023 World Championship. At the end of the clip, the skill image of Ahri, designed to resemble a rose, also delighted many fans as it reminded them of Faker and T1 players often holding a red rose during the 2021 – 2022 period.

However, one thing that fans regretted was that the powerful statement encapsulating Faker’s greatness on the occasion of the 2023 World Championship was not included in the teaser. That is the firm affirmation: “All roads lead to me” from Faker when asked about the Golden Road that JD Gaming was preparing to accomplish last year. This is now the most famous quote from Faker and is referenced by many League of Legends fans whenever a team is on the Golden Road journey like JDG in 2023.

Faker’s greatness is something that doesn’t need to be debated anymore. And perhaps right now, the question that League of Legends fans are most curious about is how much the Hall of League of Legends skins will cost so they can be ready to “donate blood” for them.
