The recent Worlds 2023 witnessed many exciting matches, including the first time in the tournament’s history where LPL representatives completely dominated LCK. However, in the end, it was still a “great battle between China and Korea” as T1 defeated team after team, including the two “giants” of LPL, LNG Esports and JD Gaming. Before that, they also took down Bilibili Gaming to reach the Quarterfinals. These matches brought a lot of emotions to the viewers, especially T1 fans.

Among T1’s “fallen foes”, BLG is quite a special case as they lost to Faker and his teammates but completely dominated when facing Gen.G – the reigning LCK champions. In fact, if they had been luckier and more cautious, BLG would have been the team to advance to the finals. However, it’s clear that Worlds 2023 cannot be considered a successful tournament for BLG. Recently, SofM – someone very familiar with LPL as well as many current BLG players – mentioned a concerning issue with one of BLG’s most important pillars, namely Bin – the top laner.

According to SofM, Bin has a very strong personality and rarely listens to anyone’s guidance. In fact, SofM even shared a “memory”. At one point, SofM noted that Bin was very strong in 1v1 matchups, but he needed to understand champion bans and picks to communicate with his teammates. SofM stated: “When I talked about champion picks, Bin said, ‘No, I just need to win the solo now.’ It was like I had to beat Bin in 1v1 for him to listen.”
From SofM’s comments, it is evident that Bin actually possesses very high skills, but in terms of game understanding and situational awareness during matches, he has not fully grasped them, leading to a lack of seamless connection with his teammates. In fact, the issue of connecting with teammates was also one of the reasons Bin could not stay with Suning when the team completely restructured and changed its name to Weibo Gaming.

Bin himself is well-known as one of the players with some of the highest individual skills in the professional League of Legends scene today. However, as advantageous as he is in the laning phase, he always encounters certain issues when it comes to team coordination. Bin’s performance and his lack of synergy with BLG were among the reasons that led to BLG’s defeats against T1 and JDG – teams that are known for their excellent teamwork and deep understanding of League of Legends.
