A few days ago, ShowMaker’s DWG KIA faced a rather embarrassing defeat against Faker’s T1 and his teammates. What was expected to be a legendary Clash of Titans in the Korean League of Legends scene ultimately showcased impressive performances only from the T1 stars and Nuguri from DK.
The remaining members played quite passively and disjointedly, with even Canyon, who was once the best player on DK, performing significantly worse.

Recently, however, the DK players regained some of their form with a 2-0 victory against KT Rolster. Of course, this match wasn’t a perfect display from all the players. Nevertheless, DK showed they could stand strong after their defeat. It’s just that they may not have fully regained the form that helped them dominate the League of Legends scene from the end of the 2020 season to the end of the 2021 season.

DK players ShowMaker and Deokdam also commented on their defeats against two direct competitors for the LCK Summer 2022 championship, Gen.G Esports and T1. Moreover, DK’s mid-laner shared the best way to defeat T1 at this moment.
“We played a bit passively, just following their (T1) playstyle. I think there’s a gap in skill level as well. We discussed a lot about how to handle situations. One of the key factors for victory is that we need to play more proactively, rather than just defending throughout the match.” – ShowMaker stated.

Supporting his teammate’s remarks, AD Carry Deokdam also stated: “We discussed a lot about how we react to the opponent’s playstyle. We realized it would be better to switch to a playstyle similar to that of LPL teams. Therefore, now we will play more proactively and aggressively.”

Of course, there is a significant gap between theory and practice, and T1 players will definitely study DK’s playstyle in the near future. Nevertheless, fans hope that the teams can perform more in line with the nature of a Clash of Titans rather than the disjointed plays leading to self-defeat, as DK did in their recent matches against Gen.G and T1.
