It was thought that issues like broken fiber optic cables and data loss only occurred in Vietnam, a place that still lacks a truly developed infrastructure. However, even in the Land of the Free, where Riot Games is headquartered, network outages have occurred, completely paralyzing the services for League of Legends, VALORANT, and more.

Specifically, last night in American time, a number of servers for League of Legends, VALORANT, and Legends of Runeterra unexpectedly went offline, and people couldn’t even access Discord or several websites. The cause was a widespread outage from the American network provider CloudFlare, which explained that the incident was due to “issues with a global router causing parts of the network to be unavailable.”
Fortunately, early this morning, the provider resolved the issue and is currently monitoring to ensure service stability.

The consequences of this incident naturally led to many services and websites using CloudFlare’s network being completely paralyzed. Services like DoorDash, Postmates, and Patreon were heavily impacted, with many users trying to log into these sites but failing and encountering numerous errors when attempting to access repeatedly.

On Riot Games’ side, many of their titles were also temporarily halted due to this incident, with numerous servers for games like League of Legends, VALORANT, and Legends of Runeterra being unable to log in. It can be said that players on Riot Games servers could not enjoy a perfect weekend as they were unable to log in to play with friends.

This really shows how lucky Vietnamese gamers are, as we can always play League of Legends smoothly without worrying about such “crazy” incidents as mentioned above.
