The World Championship Winner Might Have Been “Untangled”
As reported, just a few days ago, LPL media informed that Scout – the former champion of the 2021 World Championship – officially lost a lawsuit against Edward Gaming and thus has to “bear” a debt of over 33 million RMB (equivalent to about over 120 billion VND). Moreover, if we include all court fees (if any), this amount could rise to around 40 million RMB. This is a substantial figure, even for top-tier players in the LPL who earn very high salaries like Scout.

However, according to some recent information from LPL media, someone spotted and took a picture of Scout from behind in Japan. This has raised speculation that Scout has resolved his financial issues with EDG. Last year, when the case was still in litigation, EDG requested the court to prohibit Scout from leaving the country. Now that the situation has been settled, it is difficult for Scout to travel like that when the debt is very large.

According to information from LPL media, it is possible that JDG once again becomes the “savior” for their player. In fact, this is a plausible factor if JDG decides to handle Scout’s debt. After that, this amount could be deducted from the salary of the former World Champion, and Scout would play for JDG for at least another 2 to 3 years. Not to mention, this action could help Scout focus more on his gameplay and could be a significant benefit for JDG if Scout unleashes his full potential in the upcoming seasons.

Not Only the Former World Champion, JDG has Previously Taken Similar “Heroic” Actions
If the LPL information is true, then Scout will be the second prominent case that JDG has “supported.” In the past, this team also spent money to resolve Kanavi’s contract with Griffin, thus helping the Korean player get untangled, and since then, he has only been loyal to the colors of JDG.
Thus, Scout’s case is entirely plausible. And if this becomes a reality, perhaps even from this moment, people can guess Scout’s final destination, thus putting an end to all rumors about the former World Champion returning to Korea in the future.
