In the 2023 season, the launch of the TFT game mode was one of the highlights of League of Legends. This mode has brought a fresh breeze to League of Legends and provided players with a great place for entertainment. Therefore, many players hope that Riot will make TFT a permanent game mode in League of Legends.

However, Riot Games seems to not stop at TFT and wants to create other more interesting products. The story began when players were worried that Riot Maxw3ll’s shift away from the game mode design team would lead to them being abandoned. However, the League of Legends gameplay production lead – Riot Reav3 revealed that they are working on many “more ambitious goals” for the 2024 season.
“Maxw3ll’s departure does not affect the design of new game modes. TFT is an interesting and successful product of ours. However, the whole team is working on game modes with more ambitious goals for the upcoming 2024 season,” Riot Reav3 shared.

If you have been with League of Legends for a long time, you will realize that modes before 2023 were often “abandoned” by Riot. Game modes like URF, One For All… were only opened again for short periods and did not provide a fresh experience. This is believed to be a consequence of the former game mode design lead – Riot Mortdog moving to the TFT project.

Therefore, the emergence of TFT with its fresh and interesting gameplay has changed the unfortunate situation of special game modes in League of Legends. League of Legends players can completely hope that Riot will add special features to modes like URF, One For All… Even previously interesting modes like Ascension, Doom Bots… could also return to help players reminisce about their early days with League of Legends.

Hopefully, Riot Games will soon fulfill their promise to create new game modes and apply them to League of Legends in the near future. This will create truly entertaining moments for the League of Legends community.
