Currently, the League of Legends patch 12.20 is in the hands of players worldwide. Following this, players will experience patch 12.21 in preparation for the Pre-Season 2023. Publisher Riot Games has been gearing up to buff several underperforming champions to bring them back to the Summoner’s Rift. Here are the details:
Champions Being Buffed
Ahri
Q – Spell Thief
– Energy cost: 60/70/80/90/100 => 55/65/75/85/95
– Interaction with Ability Power: 40% => 45%
Ahri will have improved laning abilities as Riot Games reduces her energy cost, helping her significantly before level 6. Additionally, her power is upgraded through the interaction with Ability Power.

Corki
Base stats
– Health per level: 101 => 105
– Attack Damage per level: 2.5 => 2.8
Corki has been quite weak in the Mid Lane after several nerfs. Now, the publisher wants to bring the Daring Bombardier back to an attack damage style rather than a poke strategy with his ultimate.
Malzahar
E – Malefic Visions
– Now will kill minions below 15-45 health (Interaction with levels 1-11)
Malzahar receives a fantastic buff from the publisher. This champion’s lane control is enhanced, allowing for quicker minion clearing compared to before. As a result, players can progress their power better during the mid-game – the prime time for the Void Prodigy.

Xin Zhao
Passive – Determination
– Bonus Attack Damage interaction: 15/25/35/45% => 15/30/45/60% (Levels 1/6/11/16)
– Healing interaction with Ability Power: 55% => 65%
E – Audacious Charge
– Cooldown: 12 => 11 seconds
Xin Zhao is buffed in various directions. Specifically, Riot Games enhances his passive ability, allowing it to interact with both Attack Damage and Ability Power. Additionally, the cooldown of his E skill is reduced, enabling the Demacian Commander to use the ability 2-3 times in fights.
Champions Being Nerfed
Blitzcrank
Base stats
– Base health: 653 => 635
– Base magic resistance: 32 => 28
W – Power Fist
– Bonus attack speed: 40/53/66/79/92% => 30/43/56/69/82%
Riot Games is struggling to bring Blitzcrank back to the Jungle role. This issue arises because the Steam Golem in the support position has benefited indirectly from the publisher’s adjustments. Therefore, the nerf to Blitzcrank is solely aimed at the support role in the Bot Lane.

Bel’Veth
E – Royal Decree
– Cooldown: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 => 24/22.5/21/19.5/18 seconds
R – Void Surge
– Health of Voidlings spawned from minions: 50/60/70% => 40/50/60% of minion’s maximum health
Bel’Veth is currently one of the strongest jungle champions in patch 12.20 with an Attack Damage style. Now, Riot is increasing the cooldown of Royal Decree, hitting the strongest aspect of this champion. Additionally, the health of Voidlings is reduced so they exert less pressure in the early game.
Miss Fortune
E – Bullet Rain
– Slow percentage: 50% (+4% per 100 Ability Power) => 40% (+6% per 100 Ability Power)
– Damage interaction with Ability Power: 100% => 1 20%
R – Bullet Storm
– Damage interaction with Ability Power per Bullet Storm wave: 20% => 25%

Miss Fortune is dominating the Bot Lane, so Riot Games wants to adjust her stats. Now, the Bounty Hunter is stronger if built with Ability Power items, suiting the support role. If she continues with the traditional marksman playstyle, the champion will be weakened due to the reduced slow percentage of her E skill compared to the previous version.
