Riot Fixes Cho’Gath and Warwick’s Bugs After… 11 Years, Gamers Mock “Who Plays Those Champions Now?”

Finally, Riot has fixed the bugs for Cho’Gath and Warwick, but gamers no longer feel excited.

Throughout the history of League of Legends, with its continuous development and the constant release of new champions, items, and mechanics, there have certainly been numerous bugs. Some bugs have been promptly addressed by Riot as they appeared, due to concerns that they would impact the game. However, bugs that Riot deemed unimportant because they didn’t have much impact aside from a few unexpected highlight moments have persisted over the years.

For instance, the bug that allowed Warwick’s “Eternal Hunger” passive and Cho’Gath’s “Feast” to interact with control wards and certain items has been around since Season 1. However, despite the community’s outcry, Riot remained indifferent year after year. Even during nerfs or buffs aimed at these two champions, Riot didn’t bother to fix the bugs.

Recently, however, Riot announced that they would remove the healing factor when Cho’Gath or Warwick attack control wards and certain items… Thus, this bug has existed for about 11 years, dating back to Season 1, before being eradicated by Riot in the upcoming patch 11.20.

However, for the League of Legends community, this action by Riot at the current time may seem somewhat… pointless. The reason is that at this moment (and for a long time prior), both Cho’Gath and Warwick have been out of the meta, nearly disappearing from the professional scene as the current trend leans towards champions that can engage in team fights, are durable, yet can dive into the enemy formation while still being able to withstand damage. This is not possible with Warwick or Cho’Gath, as their abilities are quite easy to counter.

Even though it must be admitted that Riot’s timing in fixing this bug is somewhat pointless, some gamers argue that at least “something is better than nothing.” However, many hope that in the near future, Riot will pay closer attention to their products to avoid similar situations, ensuring that we don’t see any more champions with “200 years of experience.”
