According to statistics, Riot Games had around 2500 employees in 2018, and now the company has approximately 3900 employees – an increase of 1400 staff in a short period. However, contrary to expectations, many believe that the rise in Riot Games’ workforce has not been accompanied by any improvement in the quality of League of Legends compared to before.

Specifically, the frustrating aspects for players in League of Legends remain exactly the same as before. Notably, new champions appear strong to the point of imbalance, and these new champions will lead the meta for an extended period. The most “toxic” are names like Yuumi, Zoe, Sylas, Kai’Sa,…

Following that, there are old champions who are both weak and have a very dull playstyle, making them unpopular choices in the game. Among them, the champion who has been “in the bushes” the longest is Udyr – one of the least played champions in League of Legends currently. Many hope that Riot Games will revamp this champion right after Fiddlesticks and Volibear.

Finally, there are items in the game that Riot Games has eliminated from League of Legends. Some items that no one wants to buy, like the Ohmwrecker, exist, but there are also powerful items that everyone desires, such as Zz’Rot Portal or the Spellthief’s Edge. However, Riot Games’ decision was not to balance those items but to completely remove them from League of Legends – a major downside in the eyes of players worldwide.

In contrast to in-game elements, Riot Games has heavily invested in media and promotion for League of Legends through music videos by K/DA, True Damage, theme songs for the World Championship, comics,… Or even Riot Games has collaborated with the famous fashion brand Louis Vuitton for promotional purposes.

Additionally, Riot Games has launched many other game titles during the recent 10th anniversary celebrations. Many believe that the new employees at Riot Games are only for producing new titles like League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Project A,… rather than investing more into their “firstborn” League of Legends. Many feel this is a sign that Riot Games is neglecting League of Legends, needing positive changes soon to prevent it from becoming stale.
