Recently, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong – the substitute marksman for T1, was caught engaging in disruptive behavior, encouraging teammates to troll during a Solo Queue match. The incident quickly spread like wildfire, and after thorough investigation, Gumayusi’s organization – T1, published an apology to fans while requiring Gumayusi to publicly “reflect” on his irresponsible actions.

Not stopping there, in a recent stream, Gumayusi shared that he had thought a lot about his actions and recognized his wrongdoing, so he decided to self-punish by kneeling and raising his hands (a common punishment for misbehaving children in South Korea) for three minutes in front of the viewers.

This is seen as a gesture showing Gumayusi’s sincere remorse, and the player later promised that he would never repeat this mistake again.

Previously, T1 had imposed an internal punishment on the substitute marksman for the team due to “unacceptable behavior in Solo Queue”; Gumayusi was fined 500,000 won (approximately 10 million VND) and required to participate in 20 hours of community service as a consequence of this incident.

Riot Korea also issued a “First Warning” to him since this was his first offense. The 2003-born player has yet to take the stage for T1 in the 2020 season as the marksman position is currently held down by the very stable Teddy. Nevertheless, Gumayusi is still considered one of the most promising names among T1’s current trainees, and he is even believed to have more potential than Canna and Ellim – who are fortunate enough to secure a spot in T1’s main roster.

In light of Gumayusi’s adorably sincere attitude, the Korean gaming community seems to have moved on and conveyed that this will be a lesson for the player to pay more attention to his behavior in line with the standards of a professional gamer in the future.
