In the victory against the weak opponent Hanwha Life Esports on the afternoon of January 28 (Vietnam time), ShowMaker not only helped DWG KIA solidify their position on the LCK Spring 2022 leaderboard before the Lunar New Year break but also achieved a new milestone for himself. Specifically, the mid-laner born in 2000 has secured his 200th career win, just counting the LCK.

This is an extremely commendable achievement for ShowMaker, and importantly, the 2021 LCK champion achieved this milestone without even having played his 300th match in the highest League of Legends tournament in Korea. In short, ShowMaker’s win rate is incredibly impressive and is very close to the current highest win rate in LCK, held by Faker (at 66%).
However, when it comes to win rates, ShowMaker may be very close to the “Demon King,” but in terms of the number of wins in LCK, it seems that ShowMaker will never catch up. On January 21 (Vietnam time), Faker reached the milestone of 450 wins in LCK after the match against DRX. Since then, Faker has added 4 wins and 1 loss, bringing his total win count to 454. Considering the highest number of wins in one LCK season that ShowMaker has achieved is 39, including playoffs (LCK Spring 2021), it would take ShowMaker 3 years to even approach Faker’s record of 454 wins. And he would need more than 3 years to break this record, provided that in any LCK season, ShowMaker plays at least 39 matches like in LCK Spring 2021 and that Faker does not add any more wins.

Currently, ShowMaker is preparing to turn 22, and in 3 more years, he will be nearing the peak of his career. Not to mention, Faker will continue to compete for at least until the end of the 2022 season before considering retirement (in the event that he does not win the Asian Games 2022 and does not get approved for the special military service law).
Nevertheless, Faker has the advantage over his younger counterpart as he has been competing in the LCK since the early days of his career, while ShowMaker has risen from the LCK Challengers League. ShowMaker may approach new achievements and records of his own, but in terms of the number of wins, it seems that the mid-laner of DK will never be able to reach Faker’s record.
