A few hours ago, Riot Games introduced League of Legends players to the first images of the 2021 Battle Academy skin line. The champions included in this skin group are Caitlyn, Garen, Wukong, Leona, and Yone. Among them, Caitlyn’s Battle Academy skin will be a Legendary tier with completely new voice lines.
When “examining” the voice lines of Caitlyn’s Battle Academy skin, players can discover quite a few interesting details about this skin universe. Essentially, the champions in the 2021 Battle Academy group are studying at a school named Labrys. Among them, Caitlyn is the top student and is admired by many other students.
Regarding the previous Battle Academy skin line, the school they attended was Durandal. If Durandal Academy has Principal Yuumi, then the counterpart at Labrys is likely Swain. Caitlyn seems to have a strained relationship with Swain and continuously makes “sarcastic” remarks about this champion. When meeting Yone, Caitlyn also has a line mentioning Yone’s brother – Yasuo, who is about to join Labrys Academy.
Furthermore, we also learn that there has been or is a competition between the two schools Labrys and Durandal. From Caitlyn’s Battle Academy voice lines, it seems Labrys is the winner. Who knows, in the future, Riot might create a video about the competition between these two schools.
With Riot Games teasing like this, we can be sure that Swain and Yasuo will join the Battle Academy universe. It is very likely that Swain and Yasuo will appear in the next Battle Academy skin line to be released next year. Unless Riot has a sudden “twist” and releases them alongside the skins that have been introduced in the near future.
