Encountering toxic teammates or game disruptors has become all too common for gamers in general and for the Esports community in particular. Especially in popular titles like League of Legends, the presence of disruptive, trolling, or toxic players is even more pronounced. Despite continuous efforts from game developers to mitigate this issue, the situation has not improved, forcing players to adapt if they don’t want their gaming experience to be negatively impacted.

However, some players are incredibly hot-tempered, and typically, when they encounter disruptive players or toxic behavior during a game, they will challenge each other to a solo match after the game. These situations are often normal and usually resolve with the conclusion of that match. But if players are “hot” enough to set up a solo match in real life, things become more complicated.
Recently, according to reports from South Korean media, a League of Legends player in South Korea was arrested by the police for assaulting two other young men. This man, around 30 years old, had no prior acquaintance with the two others. However, during a game, this player fed excessively and was mocked and criticized by his teammates. Unable to maintain his composure, he arranged to meet the two others in a park in Gongneung-dong, Seoul, South Korea, to “discuss” matters. Reports state that the man continuously assaulted the two young men, leaving multiple injuries on their faces and sides.

Currently, according to police, the man has admitted to all charges. However, if it is determined that he intended to attack the two young men beforehand, he could be charged with intentional injury and assault. In a more severe case, he could face prison time as well as significant compensation for the two “victims” mentioned above.
