T1 beats Gen.G, Peyz is the “biggest beneficiary” in many ways
Recently, T1 and Gen.G delivered a BO3 match worthy of the “Super Classic” title that the LoL community has given to their rivalry over many seasons. T1 ultimately claimed a well-deserved victory after being down 0-1 in the first game and losing most of the second game’s advantage. This win pushes T1 up to Gen.G’s second-place position, but for Peyz, the victory holds even greater significance.

First, this marks Peyz’s first victory over Gen.G since he left that team to join the LPL and then returned to LCK this season. In their previous encounter, T1 was completely dominated by Gen.G, and Peyz had a lackluster performance. But in this important rematch, Peyz showed a completely different side. Even when playing a non-traditional AD champion (Mel) in the decider game, the young T1 player managed to “shutdown” his veteran counterpart on the opposing team.

More importantly, Peyz was named POM of the match, which could be the psychological boost the T1 rookie needed. Not only did he defeat his former team, but Peyz played a crucial role in securing the win. It can be said that, at this moment, T1’s new ADC has regained the best form he once showed wearing Gen.G colors.

T1 likely to climb to second place in the standings
Currently, T1 has extended their undefeated streak. Although they are tied with Gen.G in points and game difference, Gen.G still has a match against HLE ahead. After week 7, only KT in the final week seems capable of challenging T1. In fact, if T1 maintains their form, even HLE might have to be cautious given their demanding schedule.
