The newly released version 14.11 is a relatively minor update, with a limited number of champion, equipment, or Tech Core adjustments. Therefore, the meta of TFT has hardly changed from version 14.10. Strong team compositions like Marksman, Marksman Sorcerer, or Sage still dominate the meta after the new version’s arrival.

This has led to frustration among many TFT players who were hoping for significant changes in version 14.11. Even the runner-up of the TFT World Championship Season 5 – QituX expressed heavy criticism towards Riot after reading the update for version 14.11 live. From an explanation session of the patch, QituX shifted to criticizing Riot Games for making many balance decisions that “went underground” and ruined TFT Season 11.

“To be blunt, the team compositions using 3-cost carry champions are currently unplayable. Riot nerfed the appearance rate of 3-cost champions at level 7 since version 14.9, and the maximum number of champions has been reduced since the start of the season. If there are no ‘Hero Cores,’ don’t even think about playing reroll. Additionally, 4-cost champions are currently too strong, and winning with this type of carry is merely a gamble on luck when rolling in round 4-1.
Yet they didn’t adjust the appearance rates of champions in the shop in this version 14.11. Moreover, there are many extremely imbalanced upgrades at this time that Riot hasn’t touched. And may I ask why they are introducing so much gold from Tech Cores, blessings… into TFT? This has made the reroll playstyle incredibly weak,” QituX expressed in frustration.

Essentially, the issues raised by QituX are not new. Many players and streamers have complained about the excessive amount of gold for players in Season 11. However, when combined with the heavy nerf to the 3-cost reroll playstyle in version 14.9, it has led to a rather negative shift in the TFT meta.

With reroll team compositions becoming too weak (due to nerfs), the gold-holding playstyle faces very little pressure in the early to mid-game. Consequently, players can now easily level up to 8-9 thanks to the abundant gold and experience from Tech Cores or special blessings. This leads to players needing to rely on ‘luck’ to acquire strong carries like Ashe, Kai’Sa…

As a result, the meta of TFT Season 11 is gradually becoming extremely dull, with the playstyles and the number of meta compositions lacking diversity. For players, it is also difficult to refine skills since the outcomes in Season 11 depend too much on luck, which is uncontrollable. Perhaps it is time for Riot to listen to the players and implement more reasonable adjustments to “save” the remainder of Season 11.
