On the final day of the LCK Spring 2022 before the Lunar New Year break, Faker and his teammates faced a formidable opponent, arguably the toughest team T1 has encountered so far this season: DWG KIA. The objective to win was mandatory to maintain their top position in the standings, putting pressure on Gen.G Esports while also creating a comfortable mental state for the matches after the Lunar New Year break.

And T1 accomplished the task excellently. Although in game 1, DK took an early lead, Faker and his teammates remained undaunted. They achieved a swift victory in game 2, and despite being pressured in the early and mid-game of game 3, the brilliance of Faker and Gumayusi helped T1 secure the ultimate victory. The ‘Demon King’ himself received resounding praise for this performance. Notably, despite being older as Faker was once again the oldest player in the recent match, he still executed incredibly skillful plays with his signature champion LeBlanc.
However, notably, in the post-match interview, Faker was asked a question related to the changes in the Teleport spell. Specifically, the reporter asked Faker: “Some players have complained that the changes to the Teleport spell completely altered the meta. What do you think about this?”
And Faker’s answer subsequently stunned many fans, but then moved them when they realized how long the ‘Demon King’ has been tied to the development history of League of Legends: “I think new players starting their careers recently will find the change in the Teleport spell hard to adapt to, but the reality is that it’s now more similar to the old days when the cooldown of Teleport was reduced each time it was used on a tower. I remember many people tried to adjust my playstyle back then.”

Faker’s answer inadvertently proved how long his great career has lasted. In fact, some even pointed out that Faker faced the current president of Team SoloMid – Reginald at the 2013 World Championship as well as names like Xpeke, Alex Ich… and while these players have now retired, Faker is still at the top.

Additionally, Faker also set a goal to defeat Gen.G Esports in the match during week 4 after the Lunar New Year break. According to Faker, if they can overcome this obstacle, then 10 consecutive wins are completely within reach.
