Complaining on stream about his past glory, the former LoL star faces criticism
Recently, the popular male streamer and former League of Legends superstar Uzi went live to share his difficult circumstances. Specifically, he mentioned that the number of viewers on his stream has dropped to alarming levels. Uzi streamed a total of 7 days in February, with a total duration of around 38 hours. However, only 51 people sent gifts, totaling about 550.2 CNY, but after sharing with the platform, he only kept around 340 CNY (~1.2 million VND).

Normally, situations like Uzi’s would garner sympathy from the audience. However, when the LPL’s AD carry himself speaks up, a barrage of criticism has come his way. Many argue that Uzi fundamentally no longer relies on income from livestreaming. Notably, he even had periods where he hardly streamed when returning to the professional arena or preparing to co-stream the World Championship in 2023.

However, it’s worth mentioning that while continuously lamenting about his livestream income, many viewers recalled that Uzi once held a luxurious and expensive wedding anniversary party with his wife at the beginning of 2025. Additionally, on that day, he gifted his wife a diamond ring worth 1.8 million CNY (approximately 6.3 billion VND). Not to mention, Uzi’s residence is also located in a wealthy neighborhood in China, and he is neighbors with many famous stars from the mainland.

Uzi himself has been compared to Faker and is considered a legend among marksmen in the global League of Legends scene. Therefore, according to many opinions, even if his livestream income isn’t great, Uzi shouldn’t be complaining at all.

– When he bought a 30 million CNY house, I didn’t see him complaining, did I?
– When co-streaming, he still had many viewers, just take it easy, bro.
– But even Doinb has mentioned this. If we don’t win the World Championship, the LPL could decline faster.
However, the situation of the former LoL star raises alarm bells in the LPL
In reality, former players and popular KOLs working in the esports industry, especially League of Legends, in China used to attract large audiences. It can even be said that the livestream income of Doinb or Xiaochaomeng is much higher than many top players in the country. However, as the livestreaming industry faces saturation, these individuals immediately encounter difficulties.

The decrease in viewership, while the revenue share with platforms remains unchanged, is a significant issue. For KOLs like Xiaochaomeng or those still competing like Doinb, the problem may not be too severe. But for a retired player who chooses to livestream, that person can face many challenges, especially if they haven’t built a large fanbase during their competitive career.
