GAM’s changes leave VCS fans astonished
As predicted, after a disappointing season and the loss of their spot at the 2025 World Championship, GAM is sure to undergo some restructuring, and the first “shots” have already been fired. In less than an hour, GAM bid farewell to three members, two of whom were from the coaching staff: head coach Archie and assistant coach XuHao. The other was player EasyLove – the substitute ADC.

EasyLove’s departure from GAM was somewhat anticipated. Throughout the period from the Season Kickoff of LCP to after GAM’s defeat against TSW, EasyLove’s appearances could be counted on one hand. With such limited contributions, EasyLove’s exit is probably the best for everyone, allowing this player to consider new directions for himself while GAM can explore other personnel options.
XuHao’s case is quite similar to EasyLove’s. In fact, in major teams, the position of assistant coach is rarely present. Instead, there’s a head coach, analyst, and occasionally a coach specialized for a specific lane that needs special nurturing.
Coach Archie’s departure is quite surprising as GAM still has ASI 2025 to compete.
Therefore, among the three departures announced, only Archie’s was surprising to many. Moreover, GAM is preparing to participate in ASI 2025 (the tournament considered the “C2 Cup of the LoL community”). With this situation, unless something drastic happens, it’s highly likely that GAM will field Hype as the interim coach.
GAM faces a tough challenge at ASI 2025
At the same time, on September 30th (Vietnam time), the ASI tournament organizers announced GAM’s group stage. Accordingly, GAM will share a group with JDG, WBG, and DK. Thus, the chance of GAM exiting ASI early is very high, as these three teams are all very strong. Many viewers even believe that they only lost their spot at the World Championship because their domestic rivals were too strong.
GAM will have a very tough schedule at ASI 2025.
Therefore, VCS fans might not want to expect too much from GAM’s performance at ASI 2025. Instead, the changes GAM makes for the next season might be more noteworthy, especially after a disappointing year like 2025, up to this point.
