Recently, the official fanpage of GAM Esports posted an incredibly surprising announcement, revealing that the team has officially “activated” its first major signing of the summer transfer window with the return of former player Noway.
[TRANSFER NEWS]
The GAM Esports family is excited to welcome Noway back as the AD Carry.
The talented AD Carry born in 1997 began his professional career in January 2015 with Hanoi Skyred. After some time playing abroad for Ascension Gaming, Noway returned to Vietnam to join GAM Esports before the summer season of 2017, achieving significant success with the team before moving on to EVOS Esports. Noway’s return this time will be an important piece to reinforce the stability of the bot lane alongside support player Palette. With years of synergy among former teammates like Levi and Dia1, there is hope that Noway will shine again in pursuit of the highest rankings in VCS Summer 2020 and beyond, aiming for the 10th World Championship.
ONCE MARINES, ALWAYS MARINES!!!

Nguyễn “Noway” Vũ Long – a former star of Vietnamese League of Legends, was once known as the top AD Carry in the VCS during 2017 – 2018. He was part of the GAM Esports roster that made waves at the 2017 World Championship with an impressive performance and a near Pentakill in the match against Fnatic.
In the 2019 season, Noway unexpectedly left GAM Esports and joined EVOS Esports shortly afterward. He and the EVOS team consistently competed in the top 4 at VCS over two seasons. At the end of 2019, Noway surprised everyone by announcing his retirement to join SBTC as a streamer.
It can be seen that Noway’s return to GAM Esports is a very surprising move, but it makes complete sense. In the last two seasons, the AD Carry position has always been the weakest link in GAM’s star-studded lineup, with players like Zin or Blazes failing to provide stability.

In the context of competitors like Team Flash or Team Secret possessing high-quality “cannon fodder”, and particularly after witnessing how Slayder from FL has caused trouble for GAM at the VCS Spring 2020 finals, finding a top-tier AD Carry has become an extremely important goal for the team.
Noway’s caliber is beyond question, but what makes the GAM Esports fan community skeptical is that this AD Carry has passed his prime and has even been retired for half a year. Will this return help Noway regain his top form, or is it merely a “stopgap” solution since GAM couldn’t find a player of sufficient caliber for the AD Carry position?
Additionally, the player most often “called upon” in this transfer saga is none other than Slay. The connection between the two legendary AD Carries, Noway and Slay, may not have ended yet, and who knows, in this return, Noway might even whimsically ask to switch roles… to support alongside Slay.
