Faker is not the player with the strongest mentality in T1 right now
According to T1’s CEO, the player exhibiting the best mental state in the current T1 lineup is none other than Gumayusi. Specifically, in a recent interview, T1 CEO Joe Marsh stated: “All T1 players have good mental states, but Gumayusi is the most solid. No matter what the situation is, he can overcome it. He is the strongest spirit you can see.”
In fact, it doesn’t take the CEO’s personal confirmation; anyone who has followed T1 for a long time can clearly see this. Since his debut in the T1 roster, Gumayusi has been performing increasingly maturely and has become a reliable support. He is also the player who often reassures fans whenever the team is not performing well.
Notably, Gumayusi is also one of the most criticized players in T1. Since the news of T1’s intention to build a “prince” to inherit Faker’s visual position surfaced, many of Faker’s die-hard fans have attacked Gumayusi. Not to mention some of his personal mistakes in T1’s losses have also made Gumayusi a target for “trolls” from T1 fans and anti-fans.
T1 may build gameplay around Gumayusi next season
With Doran’s inclusion, T1 might shift their gameplay to focus on the trio of Oner – Faker – Gumayusi. Of course, Gumayusi will still be the central figure. Unlike Zeus, who is strongest when playing damage-dealing champions, Doran can adapt to any situation.
Moreover, in many recent seasons, Gumayusi has shown that he deserves more attention. Furthermore, if T1 truly wants to build a visual for Gumayusi in the future, helping him stand out more in the team’s gameplay is extremely important.
T1 and Gumayusi next season will certainly bring many surprises, with the “prince” potentially becoming the center of gameplay for the 2024 World Championship champions.
