Player Compared to the ‘Zeros of North America’ Leaves Riot ‘Screaming’
About a month ago, FlyQuest’s player Bwipo made a controversial remark regarding a sensitive issue concerning women on his stream channel. Bwipo’s words could be seen as malicious or not, but the top laner for FLY is also a well-known figure in the North American Esports scene. As a result, the situation escalated, and FLY had no choice but to suspend Bwipo immediately. For VCS audiences, this player is compared to the ‘Zeros of LTA’.

However, the repercussions of Bwipo’s actions have not only affected FLY or LTA but also the entire LoL community. Specifically, in a recent announcement, Riot postponed the release date of the official MV for Worlds 2025. The reason given was that Riot had chosen Bwipo as the representative face for FLY and the LTA region. Therefore, due to his controversial comments, they had to remove him from the MV while the situation remains contentious.

But Bwipo Still Has a Chance, Unlike Zeros
In reality, Bwipo’s remarks, while very sensitive and entirely inappropriate for a player of his stature in the region, are much lighter compared to Zeros’ controversial comments about the pandemic. After a period of being “benched”, Bwipo is set to return and has been confirmed to participate in Worlds 2025.

However, Riot must take decisive action, especially regarding a media product expected to go viral like the Worlds 2025 MV. Furthermore, this year’s tournament song will be performed by a new generation diva from the land of billions, G.E.M. Clearly, it would be very inappropriate to keep Bwipo as the representative face for LTA. But removing him is not easy, and the LoL community is being affected by a player’s “offensive remarks”.
