From Waste Player to Achievement Against T1
It can be said that on August 9th, LCK fans and the League of Legends community worldwide witnessed two shocks within just a few hours. Notably, while Gen.G’s loss to KT Rolster was indeed a shock, it wasn’t entirely unexpected, as KT was the only team to “shut down” Gen.G in the Spring 2024 group stage. However, T1’s defeat was a real earthquake. Nongshim RedForce was significantly inferior to T1 in every aspect, from performance to team quality. Moreover, NS was near the bottom of the standings and only above two teams that had long been confirmed to end their season. Therefore, what NS accomplished might have exceeded the imagination of even their most optimistic fans.

Notably, one player who had an incredibly bright performance in the NS – T1 match was Fisher, a former member of the T1 academy who had not succeeded in the LPL. In fact, when replacing Scout at Edward Gaming, Fisher was seen as a failure and labeled a “waste player,” with Coach ClearLove also feeling “helpless” with this player. Nevertheless, his two games using Yone against T1 were extremely successful. He even outplayed Faker in the second game despite using a short-range champion and frequently being visited by Keria or Oner.

LPL Fans Stunned After T1 Match
Fisher’s performance left LPL fans stunned. Clearly, if Fisher plays every match like his recent showdown against T1, then perhaps both his EDG and NS teams would not have struggled or faced such dismal results recently. Fisher’s EDG still shows no signs of improvement after parting ways with their mid-laner, while NS just achieved their first victory after four consecutive losses.

However, whether Fisher has truly found his top form or how long he can maintain this status is a question for Fisher himself. NS’s win against T1 may be a glimmer of hope, especially since T1 is currently unstable. And it could also be NS’s final grand achievement in this summer split, as they face the formidable and more stable Dplus KIA and Gen.G ahead of them.
