LPL Stars Accused of Cyberbullying a Female Streamer, EWC Runner-Up Involved

Currently, in terms of professional performance, while the LPL remains one of the two strongest regions in the professional League of Legends scene, they struggle to match the LCK teams. A prime example is the recent MSI and EWC events. Only AL shone in both tournaments, while BLG faced ongoing personnel instability. However, recently, Shank – a key player of AL, has found himself in off-field trouble as his team has been nearly losing all matches since returning to the domestic league, only managing to win against much weaker teams.

Specifically, a group of current and former LPL players, including familiar names like Ale, Shank, Smlz, icon, and LP, launched a collective attack on a female streamer while discussing women’s involvement in a sensitive industry, violating laws. While the LPL players supported this line of discussion, the female streamer expressed her disagreement.

Moreover, according to a chat captured by some LPL internet users, Shank even blamed the female streamer for keeping him up late by watching her channel, while icon made even more severe threats against her life. The girl faced harassment for about two hours before going offline.

But perhaps these LPL players will still remain “unscathed”

In reality, “cyberbullying” against female gamers or streamers is no longer a rare occurrence in China in general and the LPL in particular. Only those with a strong fanbase can withstand the toxic actions aimed at them while operating in the online space. Moreover, even the teams themselves do not have strict regulations for such incidents, and players only need to stay silent or perform well in future matches for everything to return to normal as seen in many previous cases.
