If you didn’t know, alongside a general forum for the League of Legends community, there are many smaller forums (or subreddits) related to this game on Reddit. Typically, these smaller forums are named after a specific champion and serve as a discussion space for gamers who love that character. Even Riot employees often visit these smaller forums when they want to revamp or significantly change a champion to gather feedback from players who specialize in that character.
Recently, League of Legends players accidentally discovered the identity of the new marksman champion thanks to this Reddit forum. In recent years, a user with the Reddit account u/PixelButtz has been responsible for creating small forums for new champions. Most recently, this guy created four small forums for characters like Vex, Zeri, Renata, and Bel’Veth. It’s possible this person works for Riot or has insider information, as he always creates these forums two months ahead of the champion’s release date.
Upon checking the activity of this user u/PixelButtz, it was discovered that they had created a private forum named Nilahmains. With Bel’Veth set to be released in the upcoming patch 12.11, if we follow the timeline, the new marksman champion will likely be tested in about two months (3-4 patches). Therefore, there is a strong possibility that the name “Nilah” will be the identity of the new marksman champion.
Currently, we do not have much official information about this character from Riot Games. According to some leaked sources, this marksman will be designed quite uniquely as a melee champion playing in the Bottom Lane position. It is very likely that the new champion named Nilah (assuming the leaked information is correct) will continue to be another experiment by Riot in the marksman role after champions capable of wielding multiple weapons (Aphelios), and excelling in melee combat (Samira) have been added to LoL.
