Recently, one of the legends of North American LoL – Hai “Hai” Du Lam has announced on his personal Twitter about officially getting engaged to his long-time girlfriend – Sumichu, much to the surprise and joy of fans.

At the age of 27, Hai has been away from the professional LoL scene for quite some time, and he is currently the owner, founder, and substitute player of the semi-pro LoL team Radiance. Sumichu – Hai’s future wife, is also a member of this organization, serving as the Marketing Director.
Whether it’s a coincidence or not, Hai announced the happy news just as Cloud9 officially became the champions of the LCS Spring 2020 after six years of drought. And of course, the last time C9 won the championship in the past was also when they became the team with one of the largest fanbases in North America and… Vietnam.

The reason C9 has such a massive Vietnamese fanbase is that their dominant North American lineup in 2013-2014 featured two Vietnamese players, Hai and Ball. The Cloud9 team that won the LCS Summer 2014 is considered the most comprehensive lineup in the history of this team, before the 2020 version of Cloud9 dominated the tournament with a record of 17 wins and 1 loss.
This shows that aside from SKT, Cloud9 is the foreign team with the greatest influence on the Vietnamese LoL fan community in the past, and surely many Vietnamese gamers will feel happy for Hai when they hear that their former idol is about to get married, as he finally found joy after years of struggles towards the end of his career.
