After being released by Counter Logic Gaming – The team at the bottom of the LCS Spring 2020 standings, Crown – Former Gen.G Esports player and 2017 world champion, has officially said goodbye to North America to return to his home in Korea. He also posted this announcement on his personal Twitter as a farewell to the fans here.

“Hello, I am Crown. I will be returning to Korea today after leaving CLG. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in the LCS and back home. Life in North America has had its ups and downs, but I am always grateful for the experiences and beautiful memories. I apologize for my poor performance during the last period.”

Crown’s announcement left fans feeling heartbroken, as he admitted that he no longer had the opportunity to develop his career in North America and had to return to Korea in search of new opportunities.

However, the question fans are asking is whether Crown still has a chance to showcase his skills in the LCK in the future? Frankly, the glorious days are now far behind for this player. In his prime, Crown was always a cornerstone of Gen.G, reaching the World Championship twice and winning once.

Currently, his skill level has significantly fallen behind that of his younger peers. Even at his former team Gen.G, Crown has no chance of replacing the current mid-lane star Bdd, and for the other teams, except for the rookie APK Prince, their mid-lane positions are held by outstanding players.

Perhaps Crown is now only suited to compete in the CK (Korean Second Division), looking for a potential team to fight for promotion tickets, which might give him a chance to return to the LCK.
