For many long-time League of Legends (LoL) fans, Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong is undoubtedly a memorable Support player. It is no exaggeration to say that Mata’s absolute vision control during the 2014 World Championship laid the foundation for how the Support position operates in modern LoL. Mata is also the only Support player to have ever won the “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) title at a World Championship.

A very exciting piece of news for LoL fans is that Mata has just completed his military service. Sharing on his personal page, Mata expressed his gratitude to the fans who have followed him from his playing days until now. Regarding his future plans, Mata stated that he is ready to return either as a player or a coach.
“Hello everyone, this is Mata. I want to thank the fans who have always supported me during this time, it feels great to have completed my military service. My 30s are approaching and I have been thinking a lot about my future plans. I am ready to come back as a coach or a player, hoping for your support” – Mata shared on his personal page.

Essentially, Mata was a player with exceptional strategic vision and top-tier shot-calling abilities. With these qualities, Mata could become an outstanding coach. As long as he familiarizes himself with modern LoL, Mata will find the most effective playstyle for his team.
Hopefully, Mata will soon find a suitable place to return to the professional LoL scene. If he leads skilled players, Mata will surely achieve great titles in the future.
