The last two weeks of the 7th and 8th rounds of the LPL Spring 2022 have truly been a nightmare for Weibo Gaming fans. From being an unbeaten team, SofM and his teammates were completely “shut down” in their match against the “Royal Legion” Royal Never Give Up, featuring former player Bin. Later, in the final match of week 7, WBG won against LGD Gaming, but this opponent was too weak, and WBG’s victory was also seen as unconvincing.

Through the 8th week of play, WBG continued to suffer a humiliating defeat against Top Esports. While TES is currently on a high with consecutive wins, recently in the final match of week 8, WBG continued to make fans “go from one disappointment to another” when facing Rare Atom.
It was thought that against a weak opponent like RA, WBG would be able to play hard to regain the trust of their fans and prepare mentally for the upcoming playoffs. But no, WBG continued to show a very disappointing face. SofM and his teammates’ two games could be summed up in two words: “disaster”.
Disjointed performances, coordination efforts that lack clarity, and moments of play that are “an eyesore for the audience”. Even in game 2, it felt like each WBG player was playing solo because throughout the match, the team had no significant coordination. Moreover, key players like TheShy, SofM, and Angel were “feeding and forgetting the way back”. As usual, “the swallow” Huanfeng was completely helpless. And Coach “Thầy Huấn” himself had a poor performance as he barely dealt any damage in team fights.
With this embarrassing defeat, WBG is at risk of dropping to 4th place in the standings if TES wins against Invictus Gaming in the match taking place right after WBG – RA. But ranking is one thing, the important part is that SofM and his teammates are leaving many concerns. If they do not improve soon, the “downfall” of early elimination in the playoffs may very well return to haunt the WBG members.
